    • Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen and King, are the sequence arranged according to the rank of the card.
    • During the formation of sets or sequence, ACE card can be used as either 1 or face card.

Rummy has been stated as a game of skill and not luck by the Supreme Court of India in August 2015. This has made the game absolutely legal since we need skills to play it and not mere luck.
There are 2 types of deck available, open deck and closed deck.
You can draw a card from either of the two but you should discard hand cards only to the open deck. Show of card is done by placing the ultimate card facing down and rest of the cards shows to the players which are to be in set with accordance of rules of game.
If you find the cards dealt to you, are not satisfactory, then you can choose to drop a particular game. Although that should be done before you draw any card, as your turn comes.
In certain instances, few pools allow you to drop the between of the game, but the penalty is comparatively higher than dropping at the start.

Note: For a game of 101 Points:

    • Drop points before picking a card (first Drop)will be: 20
    • Drop points if player had picked a card in that game (Middle Drop) will be: 40 For a game of 201 Points:
    • Drop points before picking a card (first Drop) will be: 25
    • Drop points if player had picked a card in that game (Middle Drop) will be: 50
In a particular game, one card is randomly picked from the closed deck of cards to be selected as a joker. In supplement there will be two jokers with the face of jokers acting as the same.
While forming a set, a joker can be used in the place of any card, but to be eligible to use that there should be a sequence formed without using the joker.
For the best use of jokers, take a look at this.
All 'As' are considered as jokers, when the card picked for the joker, turns out to be a joker.
When you are done making sets or sequence with the 13 hand card you hold, you can then call for a SHOW. In order to do that, the ultimate card should be placed facing down to call as show.
The player will be declared as a winner, if the 13 cards are in order and have met the validation process.
There are certain rules to be met, and those are:
    • Life1 should be the order of at least three cards of the same suit. Life1 must not contain a joker. However, the set can include a joker if the joker card is used as the card itself and not as a joker.
    • Life2 must be a sequence of at least three cards of the same suit. Life 2 may or may not have a joker.
    • SET1 and SET2 may be a sequence or a triplet, or four cards of equal value and different sets. SET1 may or may not contain a joker.
In case you meld a pure sequence and a second sequence maybe with or without a joker whereas the third hand consists of two elements, of a triplet or set.
Since the limit for a set is till 4 cards, you can use the jokers in hand to complete the set with the help of maximum two jokers.
In case you are still left with a joker in hand, then leave the joker separate while placing a show instead of melding a set with 5 cards since it is not acceptable.

    For example

    • The second sequence is A, 2, 3, 4 of spades.
    • The remaining cards in hand consist of a 10 of spades and a 10 of diamonds along with two picture jokers and one game joker.
    • In this case you can make a show by melding the 10 of spades and 10 of diamonds along with the two jokers, natural sequence of 10, J, Q, K of hearts, second sequence of A, 2, 3, 4 of spades and keep the joker separate to make the show. This will be accepted as a valid show.
Do not make a set with more than 4 cards
After the player has been eliminated, a player can rejoin the game.
There are two instances where the player can be considered for rejoining,
    • The next highest point on the table is not greater than "174 points" in case of the 201 points game.
    • The next highest point on the table is not greater than "79 points" in case of 101 points game.
